Nominations

October 12 to November 3

Nominate the people and organizations that make Quebec a must for startups from here and abroad. A selection committee composed of community stakeholders will then identify up to 5 finalists per category.

Votes from public

November 13 to November 22

Vote for your favourites! Winners will be determined through an equal 50% public vote and 50% jury vote.

We are thrilled to introduce the updated list of award categories for the Startup Community Awards 2023. This year, we have renewed our awards to be even more inclusive and recognize those who may not always receive the recognition they deserve.

Individual Awards:

🏆 COMMUNITY BUILDER OF THE DECADE

Honoring a person with a long history of supporting startups and communities, whose legacy is leaving a lasting positive impact on the entire ecosystem.

🏆 INTERNATIONAL CHAMPION OF THE YEAR

This award acknowledges the individual who has consistently and effectively helped or represented startups and the community on the international stage, fostering connections and partnerships with entrepreneurs and organizations worldwide.

🏆 IP INNOVATION ALLY OF THE YEAR

This award honors the person that has consistently demonstrated a strong commitment to promoting and supporting the developpement of intellectual propriety built within Quebec ecosyste

🏆 PUBLIC SECTOR ALLY OF THE YEAR

This award honors the civil servant that has consistently demonstrated a strong commitment to go beyond the line of duty to contribute to the growth, values and value of the Quebec Startup and innovation ecosystem.

🏆 DIVERSITY CHAMPION OF THE YEAR

This award recognizes the company or organization implementing a DEI initiative that significantly impacted the organization or the community.

🏆 INVESTOR COMMUNITY BUILDER OF THE YEAR

Recognizing an investor or employee in an investment organization who has consistently supported startups, and played a crucial support role beyond the line of duty in the startup community, contributing to its growth and sustainability.

🏆 MENTOR OF THE YEAR

This award recognizes the person who is always unselfishly willing to mentor the entrepreneurs.

🏆 RISING STAR OF THE YEAR

This award recognizes the new community recruit who has shown a solid dedication to the success of our startup ecosystem.

Organization and Program Awards:

🏆 SOCIAL IMPACT CHAMPION OF THE YEAR (organization)

This award honors the program or organization that has consistently demonstrated a strong commitment to creating positive social change and improving the well-being of the community through its initiatives.

🏆 VENTURE BUILDER PROGRAM OF THE YEAR (program of one or multiple organizations)

This award goes to a program that has provided exceptional resources, or infrastructure for startups to be built, grow, and thrive.

🏆 THE "PITCH PRODIGY" OF THE YEAR (startups only)

For the founder who can close a deal for their startup in 60 seconds or less, even in a malfunctioning elevator.

Collaboration Awards:

🏆 COLLABORATION OF THE YEAR (a collaboration of 2 or more organizations)

This award recognizes an inspiring or impactful collaboration between two or more organizations (startup, corporation, and/or non profit, IAE etc.)
